Update on Aaron

Today I saw my brother in the hospital. He actually looked better than I was expecting. He had the bed sitting up when we got there, and visited for about half an hour before his lunch arrived. He 'ate' lunch-- about 10 bites of chicken fried steak and roll-- and then seemed pretty worn out. But the insurance company decided that he had been in the hospital long enough, so he was being readied to go home this afternoon. I found out that a few weeks ago he came down with Bell's Palsy which paralyzed half of his face. To treat it, he was put on antibiotics and steroids. The doctors think the steroids masked the symptoms of the perforated bowel, which is why the condition was so serious before he was in too much pain from it. Doesn't it seem like when it rains, it pours?

Joseph and Miriam stayed with Grandpa Mike and Grandma Michele while I went to the hospital. They had lots of fun seeing them. I was also able to see my grandmother while I was picking up my kids. All in all, it was a long day, but I'm glad I was able to go see everyone!

Thanks so much for your help throughout this ordeal! My dad is up and doing well! And he ate an entire plate of eggs this morning!
P.S. Miriam's "Friendship Braid" is just a single french braid. I was teaching it to the girls while I was up there. :)
