First Lap
I did it! I swam my first lap today. I was so excited. When I practice swimming, I have a little routine I go through. I practice kicking with the kick-board (leg exercise), then I do the backfloat (arm exercise), and then I practice breathing on the side of the pool. I can get through this routine 3 times in about 30 minutes, and then I try putting it together and actually swimming across the pool. Today was the first time I actually made it to the other end! After I got across, I had to wait several minutes to get my breathing and heart rate under control to be able to swim back. I made it to within three or four feet of the other end of the pool on the way back. I am just thrilled to see some progress from my efforts!
