Party Time

We had a fun New Year's Eve.  Mom and Christine (and Brittany and Nicole) arrived at our house New Year's Eve to be able to be with us for Ruth's blessing.  It was so nice to be with them!  The past few years we have made individual pizzas for our party.

After dinner, the kids all ran off to play together.  All except Rebecca.  She was waiting for the party to start.  We told her that her cousins were there to play; what more did she need for the party?  Well, it's not a party for Rebecca until you have some snacks and games to play.  So we pulled out some snacks and got Scrabble out to play.

The kids stayed up until 11:30, and that was when I just couldn't stay up any longer.  So we pulled out the sleeping bags and let them all sleep in the living room together.  Of course, they didn't calm down and go to sleep until after midnight, so they officially got to see the new year in.  I wish I had been sleeping!

Rob & Becca's Sealing

Jack and I drove out to Utah to be with my brother Robert while he and his wife Becca were sealed in the Logan Temple on June 5, 2010.  We were able to leave the children home with Grandma and Grandpa, so it was a real vacation for us!  

I was very glad to be able to support Rob on this special day, but I think I was even more grateful to be able to spend some time with him and his family.  I have not spent a lot of time with him since we were kids living in the same house.  I was glad to be able to visit with him in a casual setting.  It was great to see what a good man he has turned out to be.  (His wife is expecting twins-- 31 weeks in this picture-- and now at 34 weeks we are all waiting to hear news of the babies' arrival!)

I also enjoyed seeing my mom and sisters, all of whom live in either New Mexico or Arizona, so we don't see each other very often.
